Two police officers who defended the US Capitol building during the January 6, 2021, attack by a pro-Donald Trump mob are suing to have a congressional memorial installed to honor law enforcement caught in the attack.

Despite warnings from officials urging people not to attend the "No Kings" rally​ in St. Paul on Saturday due to safety concerns tied to the targeted political shootings​ of two state lawmakers, thousands made their way to the state Capitol to protest the Trump administration.

The demonstrations will begin at Library Mall around noon with a "Kick Out the Clowns" street circus, followed by the "No Kings" protest from 2 to 5 at the Capitol.
