On Tuesday, Chicago Cubs fans and team employees visited Ryne Sandberg’s statue on monument row in Gallagher Way to pay their respects to the late Hall of Famer.

After Ryne Sandberg's passing, the memories and lessons he imparted as a franchise legend remain for the present-day members of the Cubs franchise.

“Hall of Famer and Cubs stalwart Ryne Sandberg wasn’t just a great baseball player – he was a class act who never cheated the game,” Obama posted on X. “Everyone in Chicago — including White Sox fans — will miss him deeply.”
