Paying homage to Coca-Cola’s 1995 “Holidays Are Coming” campaign, the new, 15-second advert depicts a fleet of cherry red trucks driving down a snowy road to deliver ice-cold bottles of cola to customers in a festively decorated town.

As you might have read in the caption above the video, the original “Holidays are Coming” commercial aired in 1995 – and used real people on a real set. Coca-Cola called their new 15-second ad spot “innovative” and “an exciting venture into AI-generated storytelling.”

One Christmas ad that seems to have gone down a little better was the 2024 John Lewis effort, which saw a woman travel through time and her memories to find the perfect present for her sister. In the end, it made her realise that her sister is someone special, who deserves the very best as she moves from memory to memory from their childhood.
