Deportation Depot, a second immigration detention facility in Florida, has been proposed by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The second detention center will support the “Alligator Alcatraz” facility opened in South Florida in early July, state officials said.

Florida is preparing to hold immigrant detainees at a new detention facility in a remote, northern part of the state, the second since the makeshift detention center dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” opened in the Everglades just over a month ago.
