The family that owns the south-side restaurant, at 3146 S. 27th St., announced Sunday in a Facebook post that it's closing.

Mazos Hamburgers, a Milwaukee staple since 1934, has closed its doors. The family cited health and well-being needs as the reason for the closure.

"…we have made the difficult decision to close our doors. Due to the health and well-being needs of our family, we are unable to continue."

Longtime burger joint Mazos Hamburgers has closed on Milwaukee’s south side. In an announcement posted Sunday on social media, the restaurant’s owners said the business had closed after 90 years and three generations in the Mazos family.
