The new pact is a multi-year agreement across NBC TV Network affiliates in 33 markets in the U.S., including 29 stations owned by Nexstar, three owned by Mission Broadcasting and one owned by White Knight Broadcasting. Combined, the 33 stations have a reach of more than 14 million U.S. TV households.

NBC Washington reporter Derrick Ward, who has delivered local news in the D.C. area for decades, has died. He was 62.

Derrick Ward Sr., a reporter at NBC4 Washington, died Tuesday from complications after a recent cardiac arrest, his family confirmed.
