Denver metro communities will go under a winter weather advisory starting at 5 p.m. Thursday through Friday morning where heavy snow is possible and accumulations could stack up to 5 to 6 inches in spots.

After a cool and sunny start to the day, snow will slide into the metro by Thursday evening, leaving behind a few inches by Friday morning in the Denver weather forecast.
