The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Lamar County until 9:15 p.m.At 8:29 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Powderly, about 11 miles northeast of Paris,

At 8:11 p.m. on Sunday, the NWS Fort Worth TX issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 9:30 p.m. The warning is for Hood, Parker, Erath and Palo Pinto counties.

Forecasters say a new batch of strong thunderstorms may hit parts of the state Friday night, with gusts up to 70 mph and hail as big as ping pong balls.
