Mexico could widen suits against gunmakers if US declares cartels terrorist organizations
Mexico says that its cartels largely obtain weapons brought across the border from the United States and has sued gunmakers in the U.S. for their alleged role in arming criminals. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to label the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
Mexico is pursuing diplomatic and legal solutions to the flow of illegal U.S. guns fueling crime and violence across the country.
