The United States is committed to working with the Kenya-led multinational security support mission in Haiti, but its numbers need increase to restore peace and stability to the country, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday.

More than 100 Kenyan police arrived in Haiti's capital on Thursday to reinforce a security mission whose future has been in limbo, after the U.S. froze some funding before passing a waiver to unlock a separate batch of funds.

A new contingent of 144 Kenyan police officers, including 24 women, arrived in Haiti on Thursday, February 6, 202,5 to beef up the Kenya-led Multinational Security Support mission. Their presence, along with a contingent of 70 military soldiers from El Salvador,
