The statewide poll shows the worry is heighted among parents with students in Grades 5-8 and among parents of multilingual learners and students with dyslexia.

The poll, conducted late last year, surveyed roughly 1,500 Massachusetts parents with children in kindergarten through 12th grade. It marks the latest in a series of parental surveys conducted since the pandemic.

Massachusetts parents give high overall marks to schools for math education but substantial numbers expressed concern about their individual child's progress and statewide student achievement.

About half of parents surveyed say their child is doing well in math, but that drops among lower-income families.
