The Israeli military prosecutor's office is investigating whether war crimes may have been committed in connection with shots fired at Palestinians near aid centres in the Gaza Strip, Israeli media reported on Friday.

In a significant blow to Hamas, a top commander, Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City. Al-Issa, a founding member of Hamas, was allegedly involved in the October 7 attacks.

Issa, killed in a Gaza airstrike, was identified as a founder who helped plan the Oct. 7 attack against Israel.

The Hamas chief who is believed to be the mastermind of the Oct 7 attacks is reported to have been killed by an Israeli airstrike, according to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
