In 2018, a bus driver ignored a barricade and drove into rushing floodwaters on County Road 177 at Brushy Creek, causing the bus to float backward and wash off the road. Leander police arrested the driver, who was later found guilty of child endangerment, a state-level felony. He was sentenced to two years of probation, according to court records.
