State police said the trooper was inside their squad car when they were hit by a suspected drunk driver inside a Tesla early Sunday morning.

An emergency alert has been issued due to reported "police activity" near the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on Sunday morning. The alert was sent to cellphones at around 10:20 a.m., telling people to avoid the area south of the fairgrounds along Como Avenue.

The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, near Perkins and 23rd streets in Saginaw. Police said five people were shot while at a large gathering in the street. Officers found one victim who had been shot and hit by a car lying in the street. The individual is in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

A Merrimack woman is facing several charges after allegedly leading New Hampshire State Police on a chase that ended in Concord, authorities said.

Since the pursuit and search took place near the State Fairgrounds, State Fair Police asked that an emergency alert be sent out to Ramsey County residents before noon on Sunday. An all-clear alert was later sent out.

Witnesses described the suspect as a tall, white man in his mid to late 20s with blonde hair combed to one side, a long nose and a long face.

The Stroudsburg motorcyclist who died after a crash in Paradise Township was hit by a driver who left the scene, according to state police.
