Bangladesh interim government leader Muhammed Yunus hinted at a conspiracy in Sheikh Hasina's ousting, praising student activism , and identified Mahfuj Abdullah as a significant figure in the protests.

Yunus, an acclaimed economist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate known for founding Grameen Bank and pioneering microfinance, was seen as an apolitical leader capable of bridging divides within a fractured political landscape.

Nobel laureate and chief adviser to the interim Bangladesh government Muhammad Yunus admitted that Sheikh Hasina's ouster was a well-planned “design and conspiracy”. Yunus was speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting and said that nothing happened by chance.

Speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative, Dr Muhammad Yunus introduced and praised the young leaders who drove the student-led movement that led to Sheikh Hasina's ouster.
