Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro accused the country’s supreme court of persecuting him on Saturday after his appeal against a travel ban was rejected.

Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro says he is the victim of political persecution as he accompanied his wife to the airport to board a flight to represent him at U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

Bolsonaro's lawyers filed an appeal claiming the politician had fully complied with the precautionary measures imposed on him by the Supreme Court.
