The Minnesota Vikings were blown off the field by the Los Angeles Rams in a 27-9 beatdown. Sam Darnold was sacked nine times, threw an interception, and lost a fumble. It was a nightmare, but it shouldn't be the only takeaway from a great season.

After leading the Minnesota Vikings to a 27-25 win over the Green Bay Packers last week, Darnold was mobbed in the locker room by his teammates and lifted up onto their shoulders. The clip quickly went viral on social media as a sign of the support that Minneosta’s players have for their quarterback.

Per StatMuse Football, Darnold is the third quarterback to take nine sacks in a playoff game. Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals suffered the same fate in 2022, while Hall of Fame QB Warren Moon was also sacked nine times in a playoff game in 1994.
