Speaking with Steven Muehlhausen for The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Carmelo Hayes was asked about his feud with Andrade culminating on the September 13th episode of WWE SmackDown, and he teased that it wasn't finished.

The September 20, 2024 edition of Friday Night SmackDown featured LA Knight retaining his United States Championship against Andrade. Naomi and Bayley defeated Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton in a Tornado Tag Team Match.

It will be a sixth match between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes on the September 27th episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Both men got into a backstage altercation on September 20th after Andrade lost a match for the United States championship against LA Knight.

Andrade had defeated Carmelo Hayes in a No. 1 contender’s match last week on SmackDown (rounding out their Best of V Series with a 3-2 edge) to earn this title shot, which he made the most of, giving the United States champion the fight of his life.

Andrade and Carmelo Hayes will continue their series on next week’s WWE SmackDown. The sixth bout in the ongoing series between Andrade and Hayes was officially announced for the Friday, September 27 WWE SmackDown during this week’s episode.
