Brazil’s Supreme Court has ordered the house arrest for former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is on trial for an alleged coup plot after losing the 2022 election.

Former President Jair Bolsonaro is on trial before the Supreme Court on charges he conspired with allies to violently overturn his 2022 electoral loss to leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

US State Department responded to Brazil's supreme court order saying Bolsonaro allegedly breached a ban on using social media.
