Teamsters Canada says its members at Purolator will not handle packages postmarked or originating from Canada Post amid an ongoing strike by the Crown corporation's workers.

There are numerous options actually. Canada Post and the union representing its postal workers are negotiating a new collective agreement. While neither side has issued a notice of strike or lockout, both parties are in a legal position to do so. They must provide a minimum of 72 hours' notice before a labour disruption can occur.

Teamsters Canada says if Canada Post workers go on strike or are locked out, its members at Purolator won't handle any packages postmarked or identified as originating from the carrier.
