A powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean, about 130 miles southwest of the Cayman Islands, which triggered a tsunami advisory for several islands nearby Saturday evening.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 shook the Caribbean Sea southwest of Cayman Islands on Saturday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

NWS says ‘the tsunami threat has passed. Unusual currents may be noticed in some areas. Exercise normal caution.’
