Miami Heat center Kevin Love "has made it clear" he plans to return for the 2025-26 NBA season, according to the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds. The Heat's first-round elimination by the Cleveland Cavaliers marked the end of Love's 17th NBA season and third with Miami.

Kevin Love has been away from the Miami Heat for most of the past month because of personal reasons. On Sunday night, Love announced the passing of his father. Love went to Instagram and announced the death of his father, former NBA player Stan Love, through a heartfelt message. Stan Love was 76.

Both players poured their hearts into their cities, and it seems as if Love is finally getting the appreciation he deserves. In a heartbreaking announcement, the five-time All-Star revealed that his father passed away the day before game four of Miami’s first-round matchup with the Cavs.
