José Ramírez became Cleveland’s leader in multihome run games with a drive to right field in the eighth inning as the Guardians defeated the Miami Marlins 4-3.

José Ramírez collected three hits and scored three runs, moving past Kenny Lofton for third place on the Guardians’ all-time runs scored list in a 9-4 win Thursday against the Marlins at Progressive Field.

In just his 13th game as a major leaguer, Jakob Marsee drove in seven runs as the Marlins evened the series at one game apiece with a 13-4 drubbing of the Guardians. The rookie went 4-5 including two home runs and is now hitting .436 since being promoted to the big club on August 1.

The Miami Marlins and Cleveland Guardians meet Thursday for the finale of their 3-game series at Progressive Field.

The Guardians successfully won two of their games against the Marlins, and next up for Cleveland is the Atlanta Braves, who come to town for a three-game set this weekend.
