Authorities have identified the woman who burned to death after she was set on fire inside a New York City subway train as 57-year-old Debrina Kawam. At a news conference, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Kawam,

When visiting New York City in 2025, you will have a much easier time getting on the subway, as the MetroCard has been replaced by a new tap-and-go system.

The woman, Debrina Kawam, had a New Jersey address, according to NYPD. Kawam died on Dec. 22 after being set on fire while inside a New York subway train.
