The Red Wings have been outstanding of late, but Adam Proteau says Detroit still needs trade help if they're to make the Stanley Cup playoffs.

"You take it as a challenge," forward Patrick Kane said. "Under Todd, we've kind of built a little bit of a foundation where we're kind of knowing what to expect going forward and feeling confident about it as well, so just play every game, take it a game at a time and see what happens."

Even though San Jose was able to cool off the red-hot Red Wings on Tuesday night, Detroit fans have to be pleased with what they've been witnessing since the turn of the new year.
