Four-time London champion Eliud Kipchoge and Olympic champions Sifan Hassan and Tamirat Tola among the favorites in Sunday's London Marathon.

Eliud Kipchoge, who became the first athlete to run a marathon in under two hours in 2019 and is widely regarded as the greatest distance runner in history, is back at the London Marathon for the first time since 2020 this year.

Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia secured her first London Marathon title Sunday after pulling away from Joyciline Jepkosgei near the end. Assefa finished in an unofficial time of 2 hours, 15 minutes and 50 seconds,
