Sunday was a day to remember for the Seattle Mariners, a game where history was made, home runs flew out of the ballpark seemingly at will, and an absolutely vital series finished in thrilling fashion.

Julio Rodriguez homered to become the first player in major league history with 20 or more home runs and 20 or more stolen bases in each of his first four seasons, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 on Sunday.

Julio Rodriguez hit a milestone home run as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Texas Rangers 5-4 Sunday afternoon. Jorge Polanco and J.P. Crawford also went deep for the Mariners, who took three of four games in the series between the American League West rivals and improved to 10-3 against Texas this season.

The Mariners got it done on offense and defense to clinch the four-game series win and put themselves in a great position in the playoff race.

Cal Raleigh homered again, rookie Cole Young also went deep and George Kirby pitched six strong innings as the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 6-0 on Thursday night. Raleigh hit his major league-leading 42nd home run in the fifth inning, two batters after Young hit his third, to give Seattle a 3-0 lead.

The Mariners are Seattle-bound to start off their series with the Texas Rangers, fresh off the acquisition of third baseman Eugenio Suárez, a former Mariner who’s currently ranked fifth in home runs.
