Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg says AI-powered smart glasses will soon replace traditional interfaces. He warns that users who do not adopt wearable AI may fall behind, as Meta doubles down on its long-term vision despite mounting losses.

Years removed from the failed promises of the metaverse, Zuckerberg has gone all-in on AI, hiring former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang to lead a new “superintelligence” team at Meta, poaching top performers from rival firms like OpenAI and Apple, and making deals to build massive AI infrastructure projects.

The new memo is pretty meandering, and Zuckerberg followed up with comments on Meta’s Q2 earnings call, saying that nothing had particularly changed. He said the company had always “open-sourced some of our models and not open-sourced everything that we've done.”
