Some Medicaid cuts proposed in Republicans' "big beautiful" bill have been rejected by the Senate parliamentarian for inclusion in the legislation. Yet other parts of the proposed Medicaid cuts — including new work requirements of 80 hours per month and more frequent redetermination evaluations every six months — were not questioned by the Senate referee.

Key Medicaid cuts will have to be struck from the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” in the Senate, if Republicans want to pass it with a simple majority, but hospital associations are still concerned about what policies will make it to the final bill.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked on Thursday if President Donald Trump would sign the "big, beautiful bill" currently working its way through Congress, if the final version includes cuts to Medicaid.
