Thirty-three police personnel, including three DCP-rank officers, were injured on Monday night (March 17) when mobs went on a rampage, damaging vehicles, hurling petrol bombs and stones at police, and attacking houses.

The law and order situation in Nagpur, which was rocked by violence on Monday night, is under control but a curfew continues in many sensitive areas of the city, a senior official said on Wednesday

Following the violence in Nagpur over right-wing groups demands to remove the tomb of Aurangzeb, a curfew remains intact in the city. Furthermore, a total of five FIRs have been registered, one against accused for inappropriately touched a female police officer on duty.
