A federal judge in Maryland set new deadlines on Wednesday for the Trump administration to meet as part of the court’s effort to understand what the government has done to attempt to retrieve Kilmar Abrego Garcia from detention in El Salvador.

A federal judge lifted her weeklong pause on litigation that seeks to require the Trump administration to say what it has done to facilitate the return of a Maryland resident deported by mistake to an El Salvador prison.

The federal judge overseeing the wrongful deportation case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia on Wednesday denied a motion from the Trump administration to further delay discovery in the case. The order came a week after the judge paused expedited discovery for seven days after the Trump administration asked her for the stay.
