WJW-TV Cleveland on MSNThree Powerball tickets in Ohio win big!
LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) — A very lucky person in northeast Ohio could be holding a Powerball ticket worth $100,000. This is Ohio’s second $100,000 Powerball win in less than a week! In addition, Monday’s Powerball drawing turned out two $50,000 wins, also sold in the Buckeye State.
A 68-year-old Ohio man "was stunned" when he discovered that he'd won $150,000 on a Powerball ticket he purchased while he was in Michigan to golf.
An Ohio woman won a huge lottery prize but will take home less than half the winnings. The anonymous woman played the $50 VIP Millions scratch-off game and won $40,000 a year for life, according to the Ohio Lottery. The woman chose to receive the cash one-time lump sum of $500,000 instead of the yearly amount for the full prize, the lottery said.
While there is no shortage of partial Powerball prizes sold in Ohio, like the $1 million ticket sold Aug. 6 at a Seville Circle K, records show that only a handful of winning tickets for full jackpots have been sold here. This includes a hefty cash prize sold in 2024 that remains unclaimed.
