The man of steel is back in a new $225 million reboot. It’s the last, best hope for DC Comics to match the success of the Marvel industrial complex.
The new film, starring David Corenswet as Superman, is intended to kick off a new epoch for DC Studios, which has struggled in recent years to produce consistent superhero hits.
The movie marks the first DC film entry for Gunn since he took over the reins of Warner Bros’ superhero label with producer Peter Safran in October 2022. Other upcoming DC Studios projects include HBO’s Green Lantern series Lanterns and a Supergirl movie, due out in 2026.
The same report also says Warner Bros. tried to lure Marvel boss Kevin Feige to join DC Studios as part of its restructuring process.
