Storm-related deaths reported in Georgia and Florida as Helene makes landfall
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Gov. Ron DeSantis said in a press conference just after 11 p.m. Thursday that at least one Floridian has died due to Hurricane Helene.DeSantis said the person died in Tampa after a sign crashed onto a highway.Additionally, the Associated Press reports that two people in Alamo, Georgia, have died in relation to a possible tornado.The Colquitt County Emergency Management reports that one person has died in relation to Helene.
