The director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is warning that a violent Venezuelan gang has resurfaced in Tennessee.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - State leaders are warning of a dangerous gang that formed in prisons in Venezuela called Tren de Aragua that has been spotted in all major cities in Tennessee. TBI Director David Rausch said the gang has been known for human trafficking and bringing Venezuelan women to the United States and Tennessee illegally.

The violent Venezuelan gang "Tren de Aragua" has resurfaced in Tennessee cities, involved in various crimes including human trafficking and confrontations with cartels.

Information about Tren de Aragua members in the U.S. is sparse, which makes the gang a fertile topic for inspiring hard-to-verify claims.

TBI Director David Rausch told Governor Bill Lee that Venezuelan gang "Tren De Aragua," or "TDA," is behind human trafficking rings, drug trade and organized retail theft cross the state of Tennessee.

Two months after 33-year-old Nilzuly Arneaud Petit of Texas was kidnapped and killed, three suspected members of a Venezuelan street gang were arrested.

According to Rausch, a Venezuelan gang named "Tren de Aragua" has been spotted in metropolitan areas across the Volunteer State.
