Chiren (チレン, Chiren?) is a cyberphysician from Zalem who is the former partner of Daisuke Ido on Zalem. She only appears in the OVA and the live-action film thus making her a completely new character who does not appear in the manga.

Chiren is a major antagonist turned anti-hero in the 2019 film Alita: Battle Angel. She is the ex-wife of Dr. Dyson Ido, the right hand of Vector and an accomplice of Nova. She was portrayed by Jennifer Connelly, who also played Melanie Cavill in the 2020 series Snowpiercer.

Chiren is the Ex-Wife of Dr. Dyson Ido. She was a former citizen of Zalem who shared an exile with her then-husband, Dr. Dyson Ido, out of a decision to not terminate their daughter, Alita Ido. They were sent down to the scrapyard in a life pod to live amongst the residents of Iron City.
