Moonlight Music is North County's friendliest music store. Founded by Russell Pompeo in 1991, Moonlight Music has served the creatively rich and varied musical community of Encinitas for 26 years. It is no wonder they have been voted North County's #1 Music Store.

The camp started when Tracy Pompeo observed a common problem with young musicians: they could play by themselves but not in a group. So we began to assemble our students into bands and teach them to play together. Ages range from around 9 to 17 and we group students based on age, experience level, and taste in music.

Moonlight Music is a family run business located on South Coast Highway in beautiful Encinitas. We buy, sell, and trade musical instruments including: guitars, basses, pianos, ukuleles, and banjos. We also offer private and group lessons and we have a summer camp.

Moonlight Music offers private music instruction to evolving musicians of all ages and abilities, from beginner to advanced. Our instructors realize that each student has a unique set of needs and goals and have created a flexible teaching program that ensures a high rate of success.

We have a full stock of electric, acoustic, and specialty guitars, ukuleles, amps, strings, accessories, and more! From beginners playing an instrument for the first time, to seasoned musicians, we have something for everyone!

His music has been licensed by EMI America, Dreamworks, BMG, Cherry Lane Music, the Doctor Phil Show and others. Howard teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced guitar, as well as bass, ukelele and beginning piano.

Nico has been playing and studying music since he was 4 years old. He played in childhood bands and is currently active in the field. He specializes in and relates best to younger musicians.

With over fifty years experience working on guitars and other instruments, Russell has seen it all and fixed it all. Thanks to “some guy at a party” there is no shortage of guitars with broken necks and cracked bodies.
