Tammy Suzanne Green Baldwin (born February 11, 1962) [1] is an American politician and lawyer serving since 2013 as the junior United States senator from Wisconsin.

Elected to the U.S. Senate on November 6, 2012, Tammy won a hard fought race and made history as Wisconsin's first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate and the first openly gay member elected to the U.S. Senate. In 2018, Senator Baldwin was re-elected by the people of Wisconsin with 55.4% of the vote.

Tammy is a champion for women’s freedoms, fighting to restore Wisconsinites’ right to make their own health care decisions in the face of the 1849 abortion ban. She is the author of the Women’s Health Protection Act which guarantees equal access to abortion everywhere in the United States.
